Columbia St. Mary's to Offer Breast Cancer Prevention Education

Staff from Columbia St. Mary’s will offer tips on what women can do to prevent breast cancer on Saturday, October 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bay Shore Mall in Glendale. The program, part of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, will take place near the mall entrance of Boston Store. Seating will be provided.

WKLH Radio personality Carole Caine will begin the program at 11 a.m. as the master of ceremonies.

The following Columbia St. Mary’s staff will make presentations:

11:15 a.m.—Exercise & Stress Relief
Carla Larson, licensed athletic trainer

11:45 a.m.—Nutrition & Cancer Prevention
Margaret Allen, oncology dietitian
Chef Joe, Pick ‘N Save Metro Market

12:30 p.m.—Q&A
Gregg Moral, MD, radiologist

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Deb Theine and Demetra LaGalbo, breast health clinicians from Columbia St. Mary’s, will staff a booth to provide free breast health materials and answer questions.
